Maya & Gavin

Suikerbossie, Cape Town

As a wedding photographer, my goal is to capture not just the moments themselves, but the emotions and connections that make the day so special. Each photograph tells a story of love, laughter, tears, and the coming together of two families in a celebration of unity and tradition.

The beauty of this destination wedding lies not just in the stunning locations and picturesque backdrops, but in the way it brings two families together to celebrate a union of love. The Jewish traditions woven throughout the day added a sense of cultural richness and depth to the celebrations, creating a wedding that was as meaningful as it was beautiful.

Maya and Gavin chose Suikerbossie for its  breathtaking views of Cape Town which provided a stunning backdrop for their wedding festivities. As the couple exchanged vows under the chuppah, surrounded by family and friends, it made me feel very grateful to have been able to document it through my lens.

One of the most  fun moments of the day was the lively and crazy horas, where the couple and their guests danced and celebrated. I think Maya’s most memorable part of the day besides saying I do, was the unexpected hike I took her on. Thanks for being such a champ in those heels. Maya and Gavin may your marriage be a journey of adventure, beauty, fun and love just as your wedding day was.

  1. Hands down the best photographer ever, in fact Jilda was not just my
photographer but my right hand woman at my wedding, putting me at ease which
was amazing especially as I can get myself worked up. In her calm tranquil
manner and nature I was instantly put more at ease. I can’t remember much
from my wedding as it went so fast, but I remember her lovely demeanour and
compliments – which made me feel less worried about walking down the aisle
to my prince. The pictures are utterly stunning and I will never forgot
Jilda being such a huge part of our big day. She knows how to get the best
shots and works the room making sure all elements are captured. Jilda please
stay in touch as you are truly an amazing spirit. Love maya
