I had the great privilege to have Hiren and Dorianne choose me to photograph their wedding on the island of Madeira. I had an exotic destination, a gorgeous couple and a great bunch of guests, how could it not be perfect.
The ceremony was held in a beautiful 19th century Catholic chapel in the quaint fishing village of Machico. Probably my favourite town on the island. From the church all the guests followed the bride and groom through the narrow roads to a cafe on the beachfront for a traditional Madeirian drink, a Poncha.
This was followed by drinks and canapes at the venue which was held in the main city of Funchal at the very grand Jardins do Lago. Once we arrived at the “Quinta” a tropical storm rolled in. The rain did not stop after that, but this did not dampen anyone’s spirits. The couple and guests weren’t bothered by the weather and they spent the rest of the night partying.
I would like to thank you both for making me feel so welcome and for looking after me so well. I really had an unforgettable time.
Venue : Jardins do Lago

PS: keep an eye out for their next wedding in London coming soon 🙂
