Venue : Garden Route Game Lodge
What a privilege to have photographed this wedding. The whole time I had to pinch myself and say “YES, I get paid to do this!”
Firstly I drove into the Garden Route Game Lodge and I spot two elephants roaming just outside the brides villa where she is getting ready. I am already amped for the day. Then I get to see Nicole and she looks like she has stepped out of a magazine in her Pronovias wedding gown and red lips. More excitement from my side. It just gets better and better.
The ceremony was so special on the deck and when Oliver saw Nicole coming down the aisle I could literally see him well up with emotion.
The photo shoot was nothing short of spectacular. Within 10 minutes on the game drive we saw a cheetah with her baby cubs, and then I got to capture the couple in front of a giraffe. Our game ranger knew exactly where to take us for the best light and I ended the shoot with the most beautiful golden sunset. Driving back to the lodge we encountered 4 rhino and buffalo. I couldn’t contain my excitement while doing this shoot.
The reception was not your typical wedding, it was set up for a relaxed party vibe, with white furniture and cocktail tables with LED furniture that was all brought in from Johannesburg by the very talented coordinator at Reserved Decor. Roberto from Blue Moon DJ got the party started and everyone was on the dance floor partying hard. I was even in my first Mannequin challenge.
Thanks Nicole and Oliver for choosing me to capture such a special wedding, and I hope the photos reflect your day as you remember it. I look forward to seeing where all your travels take you.
