Hi, my name is Jilda.
I am a Cape Town based wedding and portrait photographer and I am incredibly fortunate and blessed to LOVE what I do. I photograph, edit, blog and Facebook (I don’t Tweet), but mostly, I deal with pretty, pretty pictures.
My interests are fashion, décor and travel, and I love meeting new people. As a wedding photographer, I get to incorporate all the things I am crazy about.
My clients trust me to tell their unique love story. My style is simple and unobtrusive. I create beautiful and emotional images that can be treasured forever.
This year will be my 10th year as a wedding photographer, and after more than 300 weddings, I feel that I have the experience to be unflappable when things don’t go according to plan. I am there to be your backup bridesmaid. 😉
I do have the most awesome clients, and the appreciation I receive when I hand over their photographs is always so overwhelming.
Besides being appreciated by my clients, it is also extremely rewarding to receive recognition from the wedding industry. I have been fortunate to win several awards over the years, and have been featured on numerous blogs as well as in bridal magazines.
- I received a silver medal at the prestigious Sony Profoto awards, for Outstanding Photography in the “Professional Portfolio”, Wedding category in 2009.
- In 2010 and 2011, I received a bronze medal at the SABIA (South African Bridal Industry Academy) Vow awards.
- In 2013, I was chosen by Confetti Day Dreams as one of “Cape Towns Top wedding photographers not to be missed”.
- I’ve had some of my weddings featured in the following publications:
Top Billing magazine, True Love magazine, The Pretty Blog, Southbound Bride, The Little Pink Book, Country Love, Confetti Daydreams and My Wedding Day.
In 2012 I was extremely privileged to experience my first “destination wedding”. I got to fly to Portugal, and then on to the idyllic island of Madeira, to photograph a beautiful couple in the most stunning settings. Looking forward, I’m hoping to do many more of these destination weddings in new and exciting places. Luckily though, in Cape Town we are very spoiled for choice, and photographing weddings here never gets old.
If you have any questions, please email or call me. I would love to meet you and chat about your wedding plans over a cup of coffee.
Hope to hear from you soon
